The virtual exhibition called «World Health Day» is available for you at the section of foreign literature (room 108).

     The World Health Organization (WHO) is a specialized agency of the United Nations responsible for international public health. The WHO was established on 7 April 1948. The WHO's mandate seeks and includes: working worldwide to promote health, keeping the world safe, and serve the vulnerable. It advocates that a billion more people should have: universal health care coverage, engagement with the monitoring of public health risks, coordinating responses to health emergencies, and promoting health and well-being. It provides technical assistance to countries, sets international health standards, and collects data on global health issues.

    Every April 7, the World Health Organization chooses to highlight a special theme current in the wellness and medical world. Each year a theme is selected that highlights a priority area of public health concern in the world. The celebration is marked by activities which extended beyond the day itself and serves as an opportunity to focus worldwide attention on these important aspects of global health. In 2020: WHO helped in controlling the world wide outbreak of corona virus (covid-19).

     We are glad to present you some new textbooks. The textbooks deal with different aspects of medicine for foreign students of all faculties. We suppose these books will help our students to know more new, useful information to preserve their health in future.

     «Essential Medical Biology. Vol. 1: Cell Biology» - The manual covers material on cytology, taking into account the latest achievements in this field of biology. The edition includes information related to the general structure of the cell, its chemical composition, metabolism and energy conversion occurring on cellular level.

     «Essential Medical Biology. Vol. 2: Genetics» - This volume includes all main parts of the course: general genetics, the fundamentals of molecular genetics, human genetics and medical genetics. The information is presented in an easy-to-read way.

     «Essential Medical Biology. Vol. 3: Human Parasitology» - This textbook provides information about morphology, physiology, biology, development and ecology of parasites, their relationship with hosts. It also covers various ways of transmission and distribution of parasitic diseases, as well as modern methods of laboratory diagnostics and infections` prevention. This part «Human Parasitology» is a considerable summing up of all current information concerning medical parasitology.

     «Histology, Cytology, and Embryology: Textbook and guide (with control problems, tests, and pictures)» - The edition covers all the questions of the course of histology, cytology and embryology. The authors of the textbook recommend the edition for medical students during studying these subjects.

     «Introduction to Cariology and Periodontology» - The manual features fundamental of cariology and periodontology and is intended for students of dental faculties and practicing dentists. It contains 25 lessons on issues related to the goals and objectives of therapeutic dentistry, materials and methods, principles of work.
